Gerald Salvati
Gerald Salvati contributes more than 25 years of professional, business and corporate finance successes. Leading up to the founding of Ellesmere Capital Partners, he spent 9 years in an accounting professional practice rising to partner in a mid-sized firm, to CFO in a diversified manufacturing company to investment manager for two venture capital funds, and then raising more than $25 million in a consulting capacity for his clients in biotechnology, IT, electronics and food processing sectors.
As a corporate finance advisor, he acted on behalf of a Canadian brokerage firm on a major international oil and gas project, responsible for the due diligence on the commercialization stage of the project, which required a capital budget in excess of $2 billion. In addition, he has also advised a private engineering company in a successful takeover of a public shell company to raise capital for its operations, as well as acted as CFO for two emerging technology-based companies. He has served on the boards of a number of companies both private and public.
Gerald earned his degree from McGill University and articled for his CA designation at Price Waterhouse Coopers. He has also lectured in the CA programs at McGill and Concordia Universities.
Todd Grunberg
Todd Grunberg is a senior executive with C level management & financial experience, with over 30 years of tangible accomplishments with multinational technology-based companies, in various progressive executive capacities. In addition to his corporate finance expertise, he also brings extensive multinational government relations and negotiating skills in the Americas, Asia and Europe.
He also has senior general management experience in an oilfield services firm, including managing the global expansion of the firm. As a corporate finance advisor and investment banker, he has led IPOs, secured distribution agreements, and presented position papers to regulatory bodies and the White House. Building on his international contacts, he identified a company capable of exploiting one of South Asia’s largest coal bed methane reserves. He has also advised on the M&A strategy, business/asset valuation and helped close a number of Private Placements in excess of $10 million. Todd has been a director of small- and mid-sized companies.
Todd holds a B.Comm from Concordia University and an MBA from the Rotman School, University of Toronto. He also lectured in both Economics and Finance at the Post Graduate Level.
Bruce Curlock
Bruce Curlock is a senior C level executive and entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in exploration and production, services and related products. His background in senior management, business development as well as mergers and acquisitions is an invaluable resource for Ellesmere’s clients.
He has successfully managed and closed multiple debt and equity financings; corporate acquisitions and divestitures, including assessment of transactions and due diligence; and investor relations. In his most recent job prior to joining Ellesmere, he closed more than 10 acquisitions. Operationally, he has led the international market development for Oil &Gas equipment manufacturer, establishing offices in Asia, the Middle East and the United States, significantly contributing to the doubling in value of the company. He has liaised with Alberta Energy, the National Energy Board and various regulatory agencies.
Bruce holds a MBA from the University of Calgary to complement a Judicial Doctorate and B.A. from the University of Alberta. He is active in the community having served on boards of Glenmore Christian Academy, where he also was chair, and Girls Hockey Calgary, and as a frequent speaker for the Alberta Health Pregnancy & Infant Loss Program.
Faisel Hoodbhoy
Faisel Hoodbhoy, Ellesmere’s partner responsible for the Middle East Region, is an accomplished finance professional with a successful international career in Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia including more than 15 years in the Middle East. His primary areas of interest are in the resource and extractive industries, alternative energy, clean technology, real estate and joint ventures.
Over the course of his career, he progressed from being an auditor with Ernst &Young in England to becoming a partner and regional head of Deloitte & Touche in the Middle East, where he established their public accounting practice in the region as their CEO, including responsibility for their Mergers and Acquisitions group. He has been actively involved in private equity venture capital and investments as the Head of Investments and Corporate Finance — Saudi VC, set up the first buyout fund and the fist index fund in the Middle East, served as Head of Corporate Finance Gulf International Bank and founded and led an investment company in Dubai and was the managing director of NASDAQ Dubai where he was instrumental in bringing a number of high-profile IPOs to market.
After graduating with Honours in the UK with a degree in Economics, Faisel trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. (FCA – England & Wales). His professional credentials include Corporate Finance Qualification (CF) from UK, CPA.CA (Canada), Chartered Business Valuator (CBV Canada), Certified and Advanced Certified Islamic Finance (CIFE & ACIFE).
Nigel King
Nigel King is Ellesmere’s first sector expert and Executive-in-Residence, in the industrial manufacturing sector. He draws on his more than 25 years’ of successfully selling and marketing CNC machine tools to manufacturing companies throughout Canada. The wealth of operations experience he has gained, extensive contacts in the sector, and comprehensive knowledge of Canadian manufacturing provides the firm with key industry insight.
After graduating in Mechanical Engineering and Product Design in the UK, he worked in sales progressing to increasingly more responsible positions with Canadian manufacturing companies. After graduating as a Certified Industrial Manager (CIM), he progressed into technical sales. He has worked for a Canadian machine tool distributor, as Canadian manager for a US manufacturer selling to aerospace, injection mould plus tool & die companies. He was Sales Manager for MAG Canada and recently supported a Canadian sales team technically as Product Manager for Fabrication.
Nigel was past President of the Canadian Automated Manufacturing Society (CAMS) and past Chair of the Grand Valley Chapter of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) as well as being involved with other organisations.
